Japanese CMP (Chemical Mechanical Polishing) slurry giant AGC (formerly Asahi Glass Co., Ltd.) has announced a supply halt. It has been reported that its Fab1 DSTI slurry (Material Number: M2701505, AGC-TW) has been suspended. Dit beleid legt strengere controles op de export van specifieke hoogwaardige materialen op. Dit heeft gevolgen voor verschillende productmodellen die nodig zijn voor geavanceerde productieprocessen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AGC heeft een productielocatie in Taiwan en levert voornamelijk aan de Aziatische markt. Verschillende downstream waferfabrieken op het Chinese vasteland onderzoeken daarom dringend alternatieven. Sommige zijn begonnen met het opvoeren van de inkoop bij andere buitenlandse leveranciers en binnenlandse merken. Het aanbod kan echter op korte termijn krap blijven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CMP: het ultraplatte podium voor wafers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Met de vooruitgang in de technologie van ge\u00efntegreerde schakelingen \u2013 met name in het submicrontijdperk \u2013 hebben de afname van de feature-grootte en de drang naar een hogere componentdichtheid de vlakheid van de tussenlagen steeds belangrijker gemaakt. Hierdoor blijft de vraag naar ultraprecieze oppervlaktebehandeling en een hoge oppervlaktekwaliteit van halfgeleidersubstraten toenemen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Momenteel is Chemisch Mechanisch Polijsten (<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chemical-mechanical_polishing\">CMP<\/a>) is de enige sleuteltechnologie die wereldwijde planarisatie mogelijk maakt. Naarmate de minimale feature size van ge\u00efntegreerde schakelingen kleiner wordt tot 7 nm en zelfs 5 nm, heeft de CMP-technologie zich de afgelopen decennia snel ontwikkeld. De polijstprecisie bereikt nu het nanometerniveau en wordt breed toegepast in de halfgeleiderproductie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CMP is een standaardproces geworden in de productie van ge\u00efntegreerde schakelingen op nanoschaal en ondersteunt de verdere ontwikkeling van de Wet van Moore. In de halfgeleiderverwerking zorgt CMP voor een zeer vlak waferoppervlak, wat een solide basis vormt voor volgende stappen zoals lithografie en etsen. Het is een essentieel proces in de productie van geavanceerde chips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dringende behoefte aan doorbraken in slib-kernmaterialen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>CMP verwijdert materiaal en bereikt een gelijkmatige oppervlaktegladheid door een combinatie van chemische reacties tussen de polijstvloeistof en het doelmateriaal. De prestaties ervan hebben een directe invloed op de polijsteffici\u00ebntie en de oppervlaktekwaliteit van de spaanders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Momenteel is de wereldwijde markt voor CMP-slurry sterk geconcentreerd, met Amerikaanse en Japanse fabrikanten die meer dan 80%-aandelen in handen hebben. Japanse bedrijven domineren het high-end segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hoewel sommige Chinese bedrijven erin zijn geslaagd om substituties te realiseren in de productsegmenten van het lage en middensegment, ligt de zelfvoorzieningsgraad voor producten in het midden- en hoge segment nog steeds onder de 20%. Dit onderstreept de dringende behoefte aan binnenlandse alternatieven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Een belangrijke reden voor het gebrek aan zelfvoorziening op het gebied van polijstvloeistoffen van het midden- en hoge segment is de onvolledige lokalisatie van belangrijke grondstoffen.<br>Neem bijvoorbeeld schuurmiddelen: bij CMP zijn de drie meest gebruikte schuurmiddelen Al\u2082O\u2083, SiO\u2082 en CeO\u2082. Deze leveren de mechanische kracht die nodig is om materiaal van waferoppervlakken te verwijderen en zijn essenti\u00eble grondstoffen voor CMP-slurry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Samenvatting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Er is gemeld dat productielijnen voor 14 nm en lager bij bedrijven zoals SMIC en Huahong Semiconductor maandelijks meer dan 1000 ton polijstslurry verbruiken. Een leveringstekort kan leiden tot productiestops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Een toonaangevende waferfabriek maakte bekend dat de voorraad polijstslurry doorgaans slechts 1 \u00e0 2 maanden meegaat. Als de leveringsproblemen aanhouden, kan de productiecapaciteit in het derde kwartaal met 101 TP3T worden verminderd, waardoor de situatie zeer urgent wordt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dit incident is een waarschuwing: de beveiliging van de toeleveringsketen beperkt zich niet alleen tot apparatuur en chips, maar omvat ook kritieke verbruiksartikelen zoals polijstslurry en stroomopwaartse materialen zoals aluminiumoxide met een hoge zuiverheidsgraad. Beide vormen nog steeds kwetsbare knelpunten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De Chinese halfgeleidermaterialensector moet de inspanningen versnellen om de afhankelijkheid van externe partijen te verminderen.
