It is a semiconductor and occurs naturally in the extremely rare mineral moissanite. Silicon carbide is commonly available in two varieties: black silicon carbide and green silicon carbide, both of which are \u03b1-SiC. The particle size of silicon carbide ground by jet milling typically ranges from 3 to 100 microns (d97). It&#8217;s depending on the type of equipment, process parameters, and raw material characteristics. Black silicon carbide contains approximately 95% SiC and has higher toughness than green silicon carbide. It is mainly used for processing materials with low tensile strength. Gli utensili di rettifica realizzati con questo materiale possono ridurre la rugosit\u00e0 superficiale da Ra 32\u20130,16 micron a Ra 0,04\u20130,02 micron in un&#039;unica passata.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Usi del carburo di silicio<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Grazie alle sue propriet\u00e0 chimiche stabili, all&#039;elevata conduttivit\u00e0 termica, al basso coefficiente di dilatazione termica e all&#039;eccellente resistenza all&#039;usura, il carburo di silicio trova numerose applicazioni oltre a quelle abrasive. Ad esempio: uno speciale processo pu\u00f2 essere utilizzato per applicare polvere di carburo di silicio alle pareti interne di giranti di turbine o blocchi cilindri, migliorando la resistenza all&#039;usura e prolungandone la durata di 1-2 volte. I materiali refrattari di alta qualit\u00e0 realizzati in carburo di silicio offrono resistenza agli shock termici, compattezza, leggerezza, elevata resistenza ed efficienza energetica. Il carburo di silicio di bassa qualit\u00e0 (circa 85% SiC) funge da eccellente disossidante nella produzione di acciaio, migliorando la qualit\u00e0 dell&#039;acciaio e facilitando il controllo della composizione. Dipende dal tipo di attrezzatura, dai parametri di processo e dalle caratteristiche della materia prima.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Granulometria tipica delle particelle: la macinazione a getto a letto fluido produce una distribuzione granulometrica concentrata. Non comporta una macinazione eccessiva e in genere raggiunge un d97 di 3-100 micron.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Forma e distribuzione delle particelle: le particelle risultanti hanno una buona forma e una distribuzione granulometrica ristretta.
