C&#039;\u00e8 un malinteso comune secondo cui il comportamento di una polvere pu\u00f2 essere descritto semplicemente comprendendone le propriet\u00e0 di flusso. Queste propriet\u00e0 sono <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Discrete\">discreto<\/a>, quantificabile con un singolo numero. Sfortunatamente, entrambe queste idee sono errate. Ecco perch\u00e9, anche nel 21\u00b0 secolo, non comprendiamo ancora appieno il comportamento delle polveri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Immagina un barattolo di vetro contenente polvere sciolta. Pensa a come si comporter\u00e0 la polvere se il barattolo viene rovesciato. Considera come si comporter\u00e0 diversamente la polvere se il barattolo viene raccolto e ripetutamente battuto su una superficie dura. Le propriet\u00e0 chimiche e fisiche delle particelle non cambiano in questi stati. Sono la quantit\u00e0 di aria e la pressione di contatto tra le particelle che causano una differenza significativa del flusso.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Influenza delle variabili esterne<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Come mostrato negli esempi precedenti, le polveri si comportano in modo molto diverso quando sono aerate, sciolte o consolidate. Alcune polveri sono molto sensibili a queste variabili, mentre altre non lo sono. Alcune polveri possono scorrere bene quando sono aerate e sciolte, ma causare problemi quando sono consolidate (come il toner). Altre polveri possono avere un flusso ragionevole (buono) quando sono sciolte e non molto effetto quando sono consolidate, ma avere un reale miglioramento del flusso quando sono aerate (come le polveri ceramiche, vedere il video). Sulla base di queste osservazioni, \u00e8 improbabile che un singolo numero descriva adeguatamente come una polvere reagir\u00e0 a grandi quantit\u00e0 di aerazione o alti livelli di consolidamento durante la lavorazione e l&#039;applicazione.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In termini di propriet\u00e0 di flusso, lo stress di consolidamento e il contenuto d&#039;aria sono le due variabili che hanno la maggiore influenza. Tuttavia, il comportamento della polvere \u00e8 anche influenzato dalle velocit\u00e0 di lavorazione, come la velocit\u00e0 di miscelazione o la velocit\u00e0 di riempimento della linea, nonch\u00e9 da altri fattori come i livelli di umidit\u00e0 ambientale e il tempo di conservazione. Anche quando le polveri passano attraverso uno scivolo di trasporto di base, pu\u00f2 essere introdotta aria e pu\u00f2 verificarsi il consolidamento. Le polveri si espandono e le particelle diventano pi\u00f9 distanziate quando vengono aerate. Ci\u00f2 accade in molti processi, tra cui le operazioni di miscelazione, riempimento e scarico. Successivamente, misurare la risposta della polvere a varie variabili esterne pu\u00f2 fornire informazioni sul perch\u00e9 la polvere si comporta in un modo particolare e presentare opportunit\u00e0 per ottimizzare sia l&#039;efficienza della formulazione che quella della produzione.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Influenza delle propriet\u00e0 delle particelle<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Oltre alle variabili esterne, ci sono molte altre propriet\u00e0 delle particelle che influenzano il comportamento delle polveri sciolte. Le particelle sono complesse e ci sono troppi parametri per descriverle completamente. Dimensioni delle particelle e <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Particle-size_distribution\">distribuzione delle dimensioni<\/a> vengono spesso presi in considerazione e questi due parametri sono ancora importanti.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tuttavia, ci sono molte altre propriet\u00e0 delle particelle che influenzano il comportamento complessivo della polvere.
