Il peut se sublimer sous vide pouss\u00e9 \u00e0 400 \u00b0C. Le trioxyde d&#039;antimoine est une poudre cristalline blanche, connue industriellement sous le nom de blanc d&#039;antimoine. Il est l\u00e9g\u00e8rement soluble dans l&#039;eau, l&#039;acide sulfurique dilu\u00e9 et l&#039;acide nitrique dilu\u00e9, mais soluble dans l&#039;acide chlorhydrique, l&#039;acide sulfurique concentr\u00e9, les bases fortes et les solutions d&#039;acide tartrique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le trioxyde d&#039;antimoine de haute qualit\u00e9 pr\u00e9sente une faible toxicit\u00e9. Il est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement associ\u00e9 \u00e0 des oxydants tels que le nitrate de sodium (NaNO\u2083) ou le nitrate de potassium (KNO\u2083). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans le verre silicate sodocalcique, un m\u00e9lange de 0,18% \u00e0 0,5% de Sb\u2082O\u2083 avec 4 \u00e0 8 fois son poids en nitrate de sodium est utilis\u00e9 comme agent clarifiant. \u00c0 basse temp\u00e9rature, il r\u00e9agit avec l&#039;oxyg\u00e8ne lib\u00e9r\u00e9 par la d\u00e9composition du nitrate de sodium pour former du pentoxyde d&#039;antimoine (Sb\u2082O\u2085). \u00c0 des temp\u00e9ratures l\u00e9g\u00e8rement sup\u00e9rieures, le Sb\u2082O\u2085 se d\u00e9compose en lib\u00e9rant de l&#039;oxyg\u00e8ne.
