Elle s&#039;appuie sur des fichiers de mod\u00e8les num\u00e9riques. Apr\u00e8s avoir d\u00e9coup\u00e9 l&#039;objet en fines couches, des mat\u00e9riaux tels que de la poudre m\u00e9tallique, de la r\u00e9sine, du plastique ou de la c\u00e9ramique sont accumul\u00e9s et form\u00e9s couche par couche gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des proc\u00e9d\u00e9s tels que le d\u00e9p\u00f4t de fil fondu (FDM), la photopolym\u00e9risation (SLA\/DLP) et le frittage s\u00e9lectif par laser (SLS).
