So bildet sich beispielsweise in Ti\u2084O\u2087 nach jeweils einigen TiO\u2082-Lagen eine Schicht mit Sauerstoffleerstellen. Dadurch entsteht eine kristallografische Scherebene. Innerhalb dieser sauerstoffarmen Schichten liegen die Titanatome dichter beieinander und bilden leitf\u00e4hige Ketten oder B\u00e4nder.
